Day 10 Mission Report
Morning Operations
The crew received and installed a much welcomed air conditioning unit for the the habitat, as the temperature and humidity has been increasing throughout the mission.
EVA Operations
MS Pierce conducted the fourth and final iteration of the four-part mobility study. During mobility test four, MS Pierce utilized the suit for a total of 60 minutes, traveling a distance of 2.7 miles while wearing the NDX-2, climbing pack, and trekking poles.
Conditions were favorable for today's iteration, in that the ambient temperature was comparable to mobility test 1 and 2. Unfortunately mobility test 3 had higher than average temperatures. Average heart rate for today's iteration was 110 bpm, which represents an 18 percent reduction in heart rate as compared to mobility test 1, in which an average heart rate of 133.7 was recorded.
During EVA this morning MS Lojek conducted a hab check. The supporting legs/support structure for the primary opening/entrance of the hab and the tunnels to the other modules is deeply sunken and partially collapsed, likely making it unstable. We recommend shoring up after crew exits hab. We also recommend nailing hooks to the inside of the crew compartments. (The sticky ones kept calling down).
Stress Breathing Research
MS Lojek began comparing results from crew for his stress study. Data downloaded for stress in daily average reports for all crew from beginning of data collection (09 May) through present. Will continue this daily. Some crew are seeing their average stress drop while others are not.
MS Lojek would also like to report a weight loss of approximately ten pounds from his pre-mission weight.
Evening Operations
MS Pierce and MS Guthrie edited and posted a video of this morning's EVA mobility test on the APUS Analog Research Group YouTube channel.
MS Guthrie started sketching the crew logo on the hatch for the ILMAH habitat in advance of the egress that is scheduled for this Sunday.
