Today was a day of rest for the crew. The crew was able to sleep in, while Commander Miller sent the morning report to MCC. They enjoyed some personal time, an opportunity to hit the gym, and some crafting time. Commander Miller and Mission Specialist Turner decided to do some yoga, lead by Turner. The crew completed their regular daily tasks and their daily surveys. They then continued to enjoy the Rocky marathon they’ve had going with Rocky IV, V, and Rocky Balboa.
As far as their research, the MRE study continues, and Malnack has had success with microwaving his meals instead of using MRE heaters, which is providing a more consistent temperature. He also eagerly awaits some impromptu ILMAH repairs that he will be able to analyze with the drone on a future EVA.
The GreenHab was a nice cool temperature today, and the plants are doing well. She is enjoying her time spent in the GreenHab and continues to look forward to the next day's progress. The UND study continues to progress nicely with lots of growth!
Communications and Human Factor studies continue. They were able to test the communication system on tablets and mobile devices today, but autocorrect made for a difficult time.
Overall, it was a nice relaxing day on Mars, and the crew is ready to get back at it on MD9, so stay tuned!
