Day 7 Mission Report
Morning Operations
After 7 days in the habitat, and two EVA’s yesterday, the crew decided to take it slow today. The crew spent the morning taking the normal daily surveys, along with the University of North Dakota mid mission surveys. After breakfast the crew spent time catching up on administrative tasks, personal research, cleaning, and exercise.
EVA Operations
While there were no EVA operations conducted today, MS Pierce still took the opportunity to further refine the attachment method for the load distribution system for the EVA suit, as well as making some small communication interface configurations to the suit. MS Pierce hopes that these adjustments will streamline the Pre-Flight time and efficiency.
Plant Module Operations
The Arugula continues to grow well in the UVA and UVB light
Radish is growing quickly in the biodegradable pods
MC Trevino continues to monitor the exolab
Evening Operations
The lighting system that MC Trevino has installed in the habitat, both in the crew module and the module connections tunnels, appears to have improved safety and morale for the crew. The lighting system color can be adjusted, in addition to providing much needed lighting within the habitat, particularly between the modules. The new habitat lighting also makes the habitat look really cool.
In addition to spending the day recharging, both mentally and physically, the crew took the extra time to conduct some organization and much needed cleaning of the habitat.
The event entertainment was “For All ManKind” once again. The crew is nearly complete with the first season. One to go and Season Three begins June 10th!
