AARG-4I: Mission Day 2

Updated: Jul 3, 2023

Exciting news! APUS students embarked on the ARG-4I mission in Grand Forks, ND. This 16-day mission during Summer 2023 involves conducting collaborative experiments with UND and APU, marking a significant milestone in our space exploration journey.

Daily Report:

MRE Study: Mission Specialist Malnack has been diligently documenting nutritional and physiological data for his MRE study. He is investigating the effects of daily full-body exercise on muscle development. Today's meals included Southwest-style beef and beans, tuna chunks, and beef ravioli. We have 29 MRE meals remaining.

ILMAH Wear and Tear: Unfortunately, our aerial drone surveillance was postponed due to a malfunction in the suit docking/undocking mechanism during an EVA mission. We conducted maintenance repairs to ensure safety and plan to proceed with the EVA mission tomorrow.

Green Study: Mission Specialist Turner enjoyed a fantastic day in the green hab room. The room temperature held steady at 79.5 degrees Fahrenheit, providing an ideal environment for our plants. Specialist Turner collected data, watered the plants, and observed promising results. After just one day, the test group exhibited higher moisture levels than the control group. We eagerly await the outcome of this project.

UND Crop Study: Exciting news! Mission Specialist Turner received supplies for the Bahama-Mama and Exolab experiments. With the assistance of Mission Specialist Malnack, we successfully set up both studies. Our team is enthusiastic about monitoring the growth progress and providing daily feedback.

In addition to our scientific endeavors, we're also focusing on other vital aspects such as Communication Research and Human Factor Studies.

Our journey on Mars continues. Stay tuned for more updates as we explore, research, and push the boundaries of space exploration!
